It really bothers me that in today's society people don't help one another like they use to. Gone are the days of stopping on the side of the road to help change a flat tire or offer a ride to the nearest service station. What happened to the world we live in? The news is filled with murder and rape and robbery while the good Samaritan gets a couple of lines on the back page. We have become a society based on self preservation and greed. People are sue crazy and only help when there is a chance of monetary gain. Why did it become the norm to ignore the pleas of our fellow humans. The next time you drive by a car with a flat tire and someone struggling to change it, ask yourself, what if that was my mom or dad? Would you want someone to stop and help them? When someone is walking up to a door behind you stop and hold the door; what is a couple more seconds of your life worth? I assure you that you will change the day for that person. If everyone would just strive to do five random acts of kindness a day, how would that change the world and what would it cost you?
